Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time ASIC Engineer.



Job Responsibilities:
• The Contractor shall possess in-depth knowledge and skill in applying Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods sufficient to resolve unique or novel problems, conditions, or issues; provide expert advice to professional colleagues and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations; perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of ASIC/FPGA engineering to include but not be limited to planning, requirements development, design, validation and verification support, test review; preparing, and analyzing documentation; analysis of Very High Speed Integrated Circuits (VHSIC) Hardware Description Language (VHDL) source code, configuration files, and providing engineering support to resolve anomalies. Responsibilities may also include but are not be limited to:
o Develop ASIC/FPGA requirements by studying emerging security and system requirements; legacy products; confer with users; study systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigate problem areas.
o Review and evaluate the quality and overall adequacy of ASIC/FPGA design from ASIC/FPGA development and engineering documentation.
o Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problems, data, or other features of the work associated with ASIC/FPGA development.
o Determine operational feasibility by conducting and evaluating analysis of the problem, definition of requirements, proposed solutions, and product development.
o Perform risk assessments on VHDL/ASIC/FPGA development.
o Document analysis by developing flow charts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and comment resolution matrices.
o Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development, design, and test issues.
o Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related tasks as required.
o Other duties as assigned.




Qualifications:
o Personnel supporting this requirement must have and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
o Level III - Advanced degree (MA/MS) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, of which 5 years must be in the DoD, or a BA/BS degree and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, of which 5 year must be in the DoD, or 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, of which 8 year must be in the DoD.
