Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time System Administrator located at Lackland AFB-San Antonio, TX. The System Administrator’s primary function will be to operate complex servers, providing back-up and database support while supporting the Cyber Mission Platform (CMP).

The CMP system represents a new capability for the U.S Air Force. CMP is described as the common framework for future Air Force cyber operations and will complement existing Air Force cyber weapon systems. CMP will provide a common user interface and the services necessary to facilitate the planning, generating, execution, assessing, commanding, and controlling of Air Force full spectrum cyberspace operations. The CMP Program will incorporate an agile environment.


Job Responsibilities:
The contractor is responsible for the operation of complex servers, providing back-up and database support.

• The contractor is responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performing maintenance on systems located on separate networks; debugs installation/configuration issues.
• Lead and perform all System Administration tasks and maintains all system documentation
• Build, installing, and configuring software from source code and pre-built packages
• Write technical documentation, including the use of UML/SysML
• Maintain system documentation to include Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience implementing, troubleshooting and supporting Windows and Unix/Linux systems, and web servers
• Experience with Shell Scripting
• Ability to Integrate with other organizations/teams
• Ability to develop a highly effective working relationship with the customer

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• 10 – 12 years of experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting Unix/Linux operating system and web servers.
• Experience working and incorporating agile methodology
• Knowledge in multiple programming languages
• Experience scripting, writing, and modifying code to improve monitoring/deployment is a plus
• Excellent customer service, leadership, communication and interface skills
